What Your Typos Are Saying About You

In our mad rush to multitask, we often fail to double-check the communications we send via email or text. I often see this in messages written on a mobile device. We dictate a quick sentence into our phones, which our voice recognition software butchers, and before we know it, we just announced how pissy we are... I mean busy.

These mistakes might be good for a laugh but they communicate an inattention to detail that leaves the recipient wondering what else might be falling through the cracks. It doesn't reflect well on you if the impression you leave is that you are rushed, careless, and unwilling to invest in the quality of your communication.

So, the next time you type or dictate a hurried response, take a moment to proofread before you tap the send button. Siri may be trying to help you get more done, but she doesn't much care if it gets done write. (See what I mean?)
